Manoel de Oliveira (Portugal, 1908-2015). Director de cine. Comenzó estudiando actuación en la Escola de Actores de Cinema junto a su hermano. En 1942 realizó su primer largometraje, Aniki-Bobo. Ha filmado alternadamente cortos y largometrajes, documentales y adaptaciones literarias. A mediados de la década de 1960 llegó su consagración internacional. Recibió el León de Oro del Festival de Venecia (1985), la Palma de Oro del Festival de Cannes (2008), entre otros premios. Realizó películas hasta el final de su vida. /Film director. He has studied Acting at Escola de Actores de Cinema togeter with his brother. In 1942 he has made his first long film, Aniki-Bobo. He has directed long and short films, documentaries and literary adaptions. At midd 60´s he was worldwide known and received several awards: Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival (1985), Palme d´Or at Cannes Festival, among others. He has made films up to the end of his life.
