João Moreira Salles (Brasil, 1962). Documentalista y fundador de la revista Piauí. Cursó estudios en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Rio de Janeiro. Comenzó a escribir guiones para televisión en 1985 y desde ese entonces dirigió una decena de documentales, atravesando casi todas las posibilidades del género, la biografía, el documental de investigación, el ensayo, el documental subjetivo y, en su próximo film, trabajando completamente con found footage sobre Mayo del 68. / Moreira Salles
is a documentary filmmaker and founder of the magazine Piauí. He studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He began writing scripts for television in 1985 and since then has directed a number of documentaries. His work transcends almost all boundaries of the documentary genre and its elements: the biography, the investigative documentary, the essay and the documentary subject. For his next film he is working solely with found footage concerning the events of May of 68.
